Starting Friday, August 28, 2026, multiple road closures will begin in Moses Lake due to WSDOT construction projects. The most significant change is the closure of up to four lanes of southbound I-405 from milepost 14. 25 to milepost 12. 5 overnight from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday. Additionally, northbound I-405 will close from Northeast 85th Street to Northeast 100th Street from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, with a signed detour in place.
State Route 9 will be reduced to a single lane near Kalloch Road (MP 59) through September 14 for fish passage construction, with alternating traffic through a bypass road. Another SR 9 closure will occur from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through September 3, just south of Mount Vernon Big Lake Road (MP 49). WSDOT encourages drivers to expect delays and plan for alternate routes during these closures.
