LeAnne Parton to Step Down as BBCC Foundation Director

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

LeAnne Parton will step down as executive director of the Big Bend Community College Foundation at the end of August, ending a 14-year tenure. During her leadership, the foundation expanded its scholarship program from 123 students receiving $132,619 in 2012-13 to 350 students receiving over $619,000 in 2025-26.

Parton, a Moses Lake native and BBCC alumna, credited the foundation's success to staff, donors, and community partners. She will be succeeded by Wendi Stark, who has served as assistant director for two years. Stark will take over the foundation's work starting September 1, following Parton's retirement on August 31.

The foundation's growth reflects its expanding role in supporting student education, with Parton noting that donor generosity has 'opened doors for thousands of students.'
