Missing Moses Lake Man May Have Drowned

Richard D. Johnson, 70, was reported missing after his pickup was found empty with the motor running on Pinto Ridge Road Northeast near an irrigation canal on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) said a deputy and irrigation district employee attempted to recover a body floating downstream but it entered a siphon beneath SR 28. Johnson was last seen at 11:30 a.m. Saturday leaving his home on Road M. 2 Northeast, per a home security camera. No foul play is suspected, and his family is cooperating with the investigation.
