Moses Lake Man Killed in Head-On Collision

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

A Moses Lake man was killed in a head-on collision near Royal City on Tuesday afternoon, according to a corrected report from the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Patrick Champion, 47, was driving north on Dodson Road Southwest when Aram Garnick, 21, Royal City, crossed the centerline and struck Champion's vehicle head-on at approximately 4:45 p.m., said Kyle Foreman, public information officer for the Grant County Sheriff's Office. Initially, deputies had concluded Champion crossed the centerline, but investigators later reassessed witness statements and evidence at the scene, determining Garnick was at fault.

Garnick was transported to Othello Community Hospital with injuries sustained in the collision. Champion was pronounced dead at the scene.
