Two Fires Prompt State Fire Mobilization

State fire resources have been mobilized for two wildfires in Washington state, according to Washington State Patrol public records.

The B and O Fire, burning near Okanogan, was reported on July 9 and is estimated at 2,000 acres. It prompted Level 2 and Level 3 evacuations. The Ryegrass Coulee Fire, near Vantage in Kittitas County, began July 8 and is 600 acres. It also has Level 2 and Level 3 evacuations in effect.

State Fire Marshal’s Office personnel are coordinating the dispatch of resources, including five wildland strike teams for the B and O Fire. The State Emergency Operations Center is at Level 2 activation to support firefighting efforts.
